Relaxing behind the wheel of Mercedes’ level 3 autonomous Drive Pilot
The dream of self-governing driving almost everywhere is still a long method away. Soon Mercedes will introduce Drive Pilot, its level 3 independent driving system in Germany on the S-Class and EQS. We had an opportunity to attempt the system out at the automaker’s examination track and, while it did what it was meant to do, we found it hard to switch off our driving brain while behind the wheel. The system
deals with freeways in web traffic at speeds up to 60 kph (37 mph). Essentially it’s for everyday travelling. During that time the motorist can stop paying focus and the Mercedes is responsible for whatever that happens. That’s not to claim you can nap, the automobile still tracks the motorist with an in-car screen as well as it needs the vehicle driver to take over when it’s around to go much faster than 37 miles per hour, an emergency lorry shows up, it rains or other scenarios that the vehicle is not built to handle. But you can play Tetris and message people. That’s fun. See our video clip for the complete story.
